MAAF Graphics Contest Round 1: T-Shirt
The Military Association of Atheists & Freethinkers is hosting a Graphic Design contest to create T-Shirts. Help make MAAF’s message more prominent in today’s fast-paced environment!
This graphic may be used on our website, social media pages, brochures, or on products like t-shirts, buttons, pins, and other items. The focus of this round will be t-shirts. We want a graphic that incorporates the many facets of our Military while showing our strength and diversity! Future contest rounds are planned to focus on social media memes, unit coins, hats, and other items. You may always resubmit, so don’t hold back.

Contest Process
• The Contest will open August 1, 2014 and end on August 30, 2014
• T-Shirt designs will be preferred for this contest round though future contests will have alternate focuses.
• Entries will be judged by a panel of MAAF leadership and the top entries will be placed online on the MAAF website to be voted on by viewers to determine the top winner through Reader’s choice.
• Initial entries will be submitted through the form above. Large-format files are preferred through dropbox or another file-sharing service. Simply include the link to the file in your submission. Contest entries must be submitted in .JPG or .PNG format. Graphics must be a minimum of 300 dpi.
• Hardcopy submissions will be discarded.
• The top 5 entrants will receive a swag bag of MAAF logo items and congratulations on the MAAF site.
• The grand prize winner will receive a swag bag of MAAF logo items, $250 amazon gift certificate, and 5 shirts with their winning design. You may submit multiple entries, and if multiple entries are selected, you may receive multiple prizes.
Content Suggestions
• We are leaning toward a dark blue shirt, located at link http://www.customink.com/lab?PK=169903 for reference
• Our traditional MAAF logo colors are: Navy Blue (#556974), Army Green (#2A3429), and Air Force Blue (#0A2133), USA Red White and Blue, or Black and White. But feel free to use colors that are true to your design and aesthetically pleasing.
• Group identifiers like MAAF name or acronym, or related terms like Foxhole Atheist, Cockpit Atheist, Humanists in Foxholes, and others are options to consider.
• Text like the MAAF motto Fighting for the Freedoms We Defend may be included. Note that messages should be positive rather than negative.
• Dimensions submitted are up to the user, including full-wrap t-shirt design, small logos, or more standard chest graphics. Be sure to clarify the intended placement and size on the shirt in your description. Designs may use the front and back of the shirt.
• Consider addition of militaryatheists.org on your submission or how it might be added post-production.
• We are also interested in Pictorial Marks, Abstract Marks, Letterform Marks, Wordmark, or any other format you choose to represent.
Special Rules
• No Purchase or MAAF Membership Necessary to Enter or To Win
• Void Where Prohibited by Law (Any disputes arising under the terms and conditions of this contest will be governed by the law of the District of Columbia, U.S.A.)
• All contestants MUST be age 18 or over at time of entry
Copyright Surrender
• All work shall become property of MAAF upon submission and should be submitted with the author’s consent for MAAF usage. Use of MAAF Colors, font, and design for this purpose is permissible and encouraged.
• MAAF is not liable for any copyright infringement on the part of the entrant and will not become involved in copyright disputes.
• By submitting work, entrants acknowledge MAAF’s right to reproduce images of their work and showcase the winners on MAAF’s website, print materials, and related digital products and display the projects at MAAF events indefinitely, and grant MAAF the right to use and display your design for marketing purposes.
• You will not use the entry for marketing or advertising purposes. All contest entries become the property of MAAF and may be used and distributed by MAAF for, but not limited to, marketing and promotion of the organization.

MAAF is Sole Judge
• Each entry will go through an approval process to determine if the artwork meets our criteria before the entry will be available for judging in its category.
• MAAF Reserves the sole right to determine eligibility and winners.
• MAAF Reserves the sole right to adjust or amend contest Rules without notifying contestants.
• Contest participants are responsible for checking the site for changes and should review the rules prior to each submission.
