Education
The second pillar of the MAAF mission is to education military personnel and leaders on how best to support atheists and humanists in the military. Unfortunately much of this education also involves answer why we should receive support. The education we provide is often one-on-one in local group meetings, online, and in individual and conference calls. These meetings relate to a growing body of resources including documents, research, policy statements, and personal experiences that can better communicate our needs and empower those in power to provide for our needs. In many ways, the support MAAF provides is like that of a religious denomination for its adherents. Below is a selection of many resources.
- The first stop should be the MAAF Frequently Asked Questions which have concise and cited answers to the most common issues facing atheists and humanists.
- MAAF brochures can be used in chaplain offices or by local organizations, call for professional printing:

- Local Group Guides - Local group development, local leadership, and a map of atheist and humanist groups on military installations.
- Chaplain Outreach - Resources for and about chaplains. Also find here our Minimum Statement of Support and lesson plans to which every chaplain and military commander should agree.
